Message from Ian G Black

Scalloway is a charming fishing village located on the west coast of the Shetland Islands in Scotland. With a population of around 900, it was once the capital of Shetland until 1708 when Lerwick took over. The village is known for its historic Scalloway Castle, built in 1600, and its connection to the Norwegian resistance during World War II through the Shetland Bus operation. Today, Scalloway is a bustling port town with a rich history and picturesque surroundings that attract visitors and locals alike.
