Ghent is a delightful city located in East Flanders, Belgium. It boasts history and culture in abundance, a well-preserved historic centre with architectural gems such as Graslei, Gravensteen, Ghent Tower Row as well as the vibrant Vrijdagmarkt, making it a popular tourist destination. With over 260,000 inhabitants, it is the second largest municipality in Belgium, and has become one of Europe's hottest cities. Visitors can explore the area's green gardens, cycle paths, medieval architecture, galleries or simply enjoy the array of culinary delights on offer. Every year the ten-day-long Ghent Festival also draws large numbers of people, while its beautiful canalside setting ensures that any time of year is the perfect time to visit Ghent.
