This lake is duck heaven ahah. The views are pretty, especially from the lookout where Mount Taranaki is visible, and if you're lucky, you’ll catch a reflection of it on the lake on a clear day. The area is great for a chill day out, whether you're into walking, biking, or just hanging by the water with some friendly ducks and swans. If you're up for a bit of exercise, there's a nice 4.8-kilometer circuit trail to explore that basically goes around the edge of the lake, or you can just find a sunny spot and enjoy a picnic by the lake.

The lake itself is man-made, created back in 1932 to collect water for New Plymouth. It's a peaceful spot with various trails to explore, from easy strolls to a few more challenging routes.
