Summer in Copenhagen can be truly magical, so it's no wonder that peak tourist season is June-August. If you come in the summer, you'll likely get to see Copenhagen at its prime, everything will be open, and you get to enjoy the never-ending summer days. However, the city is also packed!

I think April-May can be a great time to visit, because the days are getting longer, the city is coming alive, and most of the fun "summer" activities are already open (like Tivoli and Reffen). The weather CAN also be really nice at this time of year, if you're lucky, and you'll avoid the bigger summer crowds. On the other hand, sometimes we still get snow in April. So it's a little bit of a gamble, but it can pay off!

September-October can also be really nice, because it feels like autumn - the air is crisp but it's not too cold, yet. You can still enjoy most of what the city has to offer, but be aware that Tivoli closes for part of September while they get ready for their Halloween season.

November-December is Christmas season! The days are short and it does tend to get pretty cold and dreary at this time of year. However, the Christmas markets are usually open by early-mid November and Copenhagen really goes all-out to make the city magical and cozy for Christmas. Tivoli at Christmas is really something special, too. Just note that many shops and businesses are closed from Christmas to New Years', so I would not suggest planning your visit during that week.

January-February is definitely the least charming time of year to visit. The days are still short and we don't get a lot of sunlight this time of year. The festive Christmas season is over, and Tivoli is closed :( You can still have a great visit, of course, but I would recommend visiting during warmer months if you can.

March is iffy - it can be lovely and springy, but it might also still feel like winter. But I would definitely pick March over January or February!

(Can you tell I really think Tivoli is worth a visit? Really, I just don't want anyone to be disappointed if they book their trip and then realize Tivoli will be closed!)
