Ruacana is an exciting town located on the Namibian-Angolan border, with a population of just under 3,000. It is situated near the Kunene River and renowned for the Ruacana Falls and Ruacana Power Station situated in the area. The picturesque landscape draws locals and tourists alike, with 600 hectares devoted to Etunda Farm – an irrigation-based government-supported scheme that runs maize, wheat, watermelons, and other produce. Additionally, there are a number of primary schools and secondary schools the town, along with the Ruacana Vocational High School. Ruacana’s exciting history also dates back to 1988 when it sustained damage due to Cuban airstrikes during the Angolan Civil War.
