The Floe Lake Trail is a stunning 20km return hike in British Colombia's Kootenay National Park, taking visitors to the glorious glacial lake of Floe. Beginner-friendly for most of the 10km outbound journey, the final ascent provides a 420m elevation climb with zero shade - sure to get your heart pumping! Upon arrival, hikers can expect spectacular views across the shimmering lake and snow-capped mountain ridgeline, truly reminiscent of paradise. Wildflowers pop up along the trail in late July and August, and golden larches make an appearance on the surrounding meadows around September. For those experienced hikers, there are also opportunities to explore further, climbing Numa Pass which offers even more incredible views of Floe Lake.
