IT🇮🇹 Big Sur è una regione della costa centrale della California, tra Carmel e San Simeon. In questo tratto passa quella che viene definita la scenic byway più famosa d'America, l'Highway 1. La bellezza aspra delle scogliere a picco sul mare e i paesaggi mozzafiato, in alcune stagioni resi ancora più mistici dai banchi di nebbia che li attraversano, ne hanno fatto una destinazione popolare per i visitatori di tutto il mondo. La regione si estende anche verso l'entroterra e comprende molti parchi naturali. L'area del Big Sur è nota per essere anche un ottimo spot per l'avvistamento di balene (migrano nella baia di Monterey da fine a aprile a inizio dicembre). Noi abbiamo concentrato la nostra visita lungo il tratto costiero della regione incontrando diversi punti di interesse tra cui il Bixby Bridge, le Cascate McWay e il faro di Point Sur.

EN🇬🇧 Big Sur is a region on the central coast of California, between Carmel and San Simeon. This section passes what is called America's most famous scenic byway, Highway 1. The rugged beauty of the cliffs overlooking the sea and the breathtaking landscapes, in some seasons made even more mystical by the fog that passes through them, have made it a popular destination for visitors from all over the world. The region also extends inland and includes many natural parks. The Big Sur area is also known to be a great spot for whale watching (they migrate into Monterey Bay from late April to early December). We have concentrated our visit along the coastal stretch of the region, meeting various points of interest including the Bixby Bridge, the McWay Falls and the Point Sur lighthouse.
