Celje Castle, also known as Celje Old Castle, is a historic castle ruin in Celje, Slovenia. Once the seat of the Counts of Celje, it stands on three hills overlooking the town. Dating back to the 13th century, the castle has a rich history and was a significant fortress in its time. Today, you can visit the interior and courtyard. There is an exhibition on the main castle showcasing how the castle was used back in medieval times. The best views are from the tower, where you can see the entire city of Celje below the hill.
Tickets cost 7 EUR per person and can be bought on the spot (no need for pre-booking).
