Kampong Phluk is a stilt village located near Siem Reap, Cambodia, where houses are perched on tall pillars to adapt to the changing water levels of Tonle Sap Lake. Visitors can take a boat tour through the village and explore the flooded mangrove forest nearby. The journey to Kampong Phluk involves a bumpy ride down dirt roads, but the unique experience of witnessing daily life in this floating community makes it worth the trip.
I booked this tour through my hotel (Amber Angkor Villas) I paid $20 for my tuktuk driver to take me there and $21 for the water taxi ticket. There are add ons like a small boat through the mangroves and food, but I didn't do these. They did not accept card so take cash! This was about an hour from the town and took about an hour or two to explore.
