Ko Yao District is a beautiful corner of Thailand located in the Phang Nga Province. It encompasses the Ko Yao archipelago, including two main islands: Ko Yao Yai and Ko Yao Noi. The Northern tips of the islands are part of the Ao Phang Nga National Park. Ninety percent of the district's population (18,000) is Muslim, and the religion was introduced in the 13th century by Arab traders. This picturesque region offers stunning white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, lush tropical forests, and an abundant marine life perfect for snorkeling, diving, and exploring. With its rich cultural history and array of activities, Ko Yao District is surely an unforgettable gem in Thailand.
