Nýifoss, also known as Leynifoss, is a unique waterfall in the Icelandic Highlands that was formed in 1939 when Lake Hagavatn decreased due to a glacial flood. The waterfall pours directly from the glacial lake, giving it a brownish color from the soil carried by the melting ice. Despite its remote location and limited visitors, Nýifoss offers a fascinating sight with its desert-like surroundings and direct flow from the glacier.

The road to this waterfall can be really rough and is only recommended for large modified 4x4 and people with driving experience in rough terrain.
