Goðafoss Waterfall is a picturesque waterfall located in northern Iceland, along the country's main ring road. With a height of 12 meters and a width of 30 meters, it offers a stunning natural spectacle for visitors to enjoy. The name of the waterfall is believed to either mean "waterfall of the gods" or "waterfall of the chieftain," adding to its mystical charm. Legend has it that the waterfall got its name when statues of Norse gods were thrown into it by a prominent figure in Icelandic history. In 2020, the waterfall was granted protected status, ensuring its preservation for future generations to admire.
