Lake Kirkpatrick is the perfect gateway to the more famous Moke Lake also mentioned in this guide. Before getting to Moke Lake you will see Lake Kirkpatrick tucked away on the side of the road reflecting the incredible surrounding mountains.

Lake Kirkpatrick is on the outskirts of Queenstown tucked away down the gravel road that leads to Moke Lake. Although it takes a bit of a bumpy road to get there, with a 4wd being a must during winter, it's absolutely worth it.

Photography info: Lake Kirkpatrick is gorgeous at sunrise and at sunset during golden hour. Take your wide angle lens with you to this spot.
