Ever wondered how life was in Iceland in the past? Then this museum is for you. Árbær Open Air Museum is an exceptional outdoor museum located in Reykjavík. It's composed of more than 20 buildings that have been relocated from central Reykjavik, forming a town square, a village, and a farm. The museum highlights different historic periods in Reykjavik's history with craft days, vintage car displays, Christmas exhibitions, and much more. During the summer, visitors to the museum will get to see domestic animals as well. There's also a guided tour is daily at 1pm all year round (no need to book in advance).

QUICK NOTES:

  • Best season: Any.

  • Opening hours:

    • September-May: 1pm-5pm

    • June-August: 10am-5pm
