Despite its charm, it remains a hidden gem and is rarely crowded. This is a captivating waterfall located in Boa Ventura, and it's one of our favorite spots on Madeira! As the first main point of interest on the Poço Das Pulgas Waterfall Hike, this beautiful, straight stream of water is surrounded by lush ferns, creating a sense of isolation from civilization.
The waterfall offers numerous interesting angles for photography, with an old tree branch in front providing a beautiful leading line for your composition. Though not on an official trail, reaching it is quite easy and effortless. Simply set your directions to the waterfall and drive as far as possible until you reach a dead end uphill. The locals, accustomed to tourists seeking out the waterfall, have placed signs to ensure you don't get lost. You can park your car on the side of the road and follow the signs marked "cascade" for about 15 minutes to the waterfall. The path is straightforward and well-marked, making it accessible for most visitors.
