Lake Tekapo is a beautiful lake located in the South Island of New Zealand. This stunning lake is renowned for its turquoise glacial waters, gorgeous mountain views with sunrises and sunsets that can't be beaten. The lake is famous for it's International Dark Sky Reserve which makes for an unforgettable star gazing experience, and is also home to Lupins, brightly coloured flowers, that bloom along its shores from November until December. The famous Church of the Good Shepherd is a beautiful photo opportunity along the foreshore of the lake. Fishing is another popular activity at Lake Tekapo, with brown trout and rainbow trout being abundant in the lake. Whether you're looking for some stargazing or simply exploring, Lake Tekapo is definitely worth visiting!

Photography info: to avoid the crowds get up for sunrise and experience beautiful colours and golden light along the lake foreshore
