Spherical rocks on beach shore

Message from Rach Stewart

The Moeraki Boulders Beach in New Zealand is home to some seriously cool spherical rocks scattered along the shore. These boulders are massive and range from small to super-sized, with a mix of sizes that make them stand out. They're made up of mud, silt, clay, and calcite, giving them a unique look with cracks and hollow interiors.

Park your car in the Moeraki Boulders car park and then head past the cafe down to the beach and you will see the boulders. Try and time it for the mid to low tide as at high tide a lot of the boulders are covered.

Photography info: Moeraki is beautiful at sunrise and you can also get the milkyway rising behind the rocks during the Autumn and Winter months. Take your wide angle lens (16-35mm) with you for this one.
