Waterfall
About 20 minutes before Rotorua when travelling from the Bay of Plenty you will find the small town of Okere Falls. Famous for its white water rafting and attracting adrenalin junkies from all over the country, the Okere Falls walk actually consists of three separate waterfalls all beautiful in their own right.
The Okere Falls track is a well formed path through the bush with various lookouts over Okere Falls, Tutea Falls and Trout Pool Falls.
The 1.5 mile track takes about 39 minutes for most visitors to complete, and is open year-round. The trail is known for its beautiful waterfalls, great scenery, and lookout points. It’s quite an adventure passing along the Kaituna River, with plenty of chances to watch rafters or kayakers conquering the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world! There are even glowworms at night if you're willing to do the track in the dark!
Photography info: As mentioned above there are 3 main viewing platforms on the Okere Falls Walk - the Okere Falls, the Tutea Falls, and the third is just off the track to Trout Pool falls.
I used a 6 stop filter and 0.9GND filter on my lens to smooth out the water in these shots and used my wide angle lens.
