Back Beach in New Plymouth with its black sand, stunning cliffs, and views of the Tasman Sea, it's a beautiful location for sunset photography, to take a leisurely walk, watch surfers catch some waves, or simply enjoy the scenery.

Photography info: To get reflection photography at Back Beach you need to time it on the mid tide to be able to have that sheen of water on the sand or to make use of any small tidal pools.

Back Beach is best at golden hour sunset when the sun is casting its last light on the rocks and cliff face.

Take your wide angle lens (15-35mm or similar) with you for this one and some ND filters if you'd like to slow down the waves a little.
