Abandoned Hotel Monte Palace carries a bittersweet story. Once a luxurious five-star hotel with 88 rooms, restaurants, bars, conference halls, and even an exotic indoor garden, it opened in 1989 with high hopes. Despite significant investment and effort, the project ultimately failed, leading to its closure just two years later. Now, it stands as a haunting relic, slowly being reclaimed by nature.
Though its luxurious past has faded, the hotel’s location still offers some of the most stunning views in the world—overlooking Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul.
This eerie yet captivating spot has become a favorite for urban explorers and photographers, drawn to its unique urbex charm.
I’m confident that with the rise in tourism, it’s only a matter of time before investors see the potential in this iconic site. But for now, you can still experience its mysterious allure.
Visit before it transforms into something new. ⏳
