Isokuru is a amazing 220m deep canyon gorge. Rise up the hundred-or-so stairs to the sight of Pyhänkasteenlampi observation platform, and take in the stunning scenery. With a campfire hut, and toilet, Isokuru has everything you need for a memorable hike! The best time to visit this trail is June through October.

TRAIL: The trail is called Karhunjuomalampi Trail, 10 km, circle trail in the website.
You can start your journey from address: Naava Visitor Centre, Luontotie 1, 98530 Pyhätunturi
Two options: You can travel only to Isokuru campfire hut and down to Isokuru and it's trail back and forth, or do if you don't want to go back and forth the same route, you can also take a longer circular route (that whole 10km circle trail) and return back from the other side of the fell. Usually people travel only to the Isokuru back and forth. Then it's about 6km.

NOTE: Isokuru is located in a restricted zone. Please move only on permitted and marked paths in the Isokuru area. Also note that in the winter between November and May there is snow in Isokuru and avalanches can occur there.
