The iconic El Túnel bookstore in Buenos Aires has been a cultural gem for over 30 years, steps from Café Tortoni on Avenida de Mayo.

Buenos Aires is a literary city and there are more bookstores than residents per capita than any other city in the world so make stepping into a bookstore or three a priority while you're here!

I love El Tunel. It is for the treasure hunters, duck inside and dig throughb ooks dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Past clients include Borges and Sábato, so you are good company here.
