This is one of the prettiest places to visit in Copenhagen. Amalienborg palace is located in the buttercup of the city and the architecture is just marvelous. You can walk on the palace Square free of charge every day all day.

This is also where you find the famous soldiers with bear fur hats and the royal soldier suit. We remember teasing the soldiers as kids as the soldiers are not allowed to move out of their position or talk to the public. Childish but great fun.

The palace also has a cute modern garden that you can walk in free of charge. This is where you find the beautiful royal fontain. The whole area gives you a lot of great photo opportunities as you can views a whole lot of top sights at once in the palace square. That is also why we always do a little Instagram photo session when crossing the castle.
