The Jacobite Steam Train is the perfect way to experience some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery.

Leaving from Fort William, this 84 mile round trip takes you past iconic extremes such as the highest mountain in Britain: Ben Nevis. It also passes by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar; the shortest river in Britain, River Morar; and finally arrives at the deepest seawater loch in Europe, Loch Nevis.

On the journey, the train stops en route to Mallaig for visitors to enjoy a wander and take in the stunning views. The train journey itself is part of the experience with its crossings of the 21-arched Glenfinnan viaduct, made famous in Harry Potter films, overlooking Loch Shiel. This truly is a spectacular railway journey.
