The Lac de Louvie can be reached directly from Verbier or you can take the cable car from Verbier to shorten the hike. It will take you through steep mountain passages where you will with some luck also get to see some chamois as we did back then. Even if you won't get to lucky you will still be able to see the huge mountains of the Mont Blanc massive.
