The Saxer Lücke has only become famous through Instagram. But there are amazing hiking routes going to and coming from it. We show you our favorite possibilities from this spot we have seen already many times. Start at Brülisau and take the cable car to reach Hoher Kasten (see link below). Enjoy one of the best views into the Alpstein massive from the top of the peak! From there on you walk south until you get to the Restaurant Staubern (a top place to have a refreshment drink or a meal. Now we walk further through rocky passages and through alpine meadows. Soon you start to see the peaks of the Kreuzberge which throne over the actual Saxer Lücke, which is the pass below. It's best if you are there at sunset. Sunrise is also quite a scene, but we like sunset better. In any case: From the Saxer Lücke you have the option to go down to Bollenwees and witness the beautiful lake Fälensee and hike back to Brülisau again via another path, or you can go in the direction of "Zwinglipass", which is definitely the longest option. The third possibility is to descend to the valley in direction of the village of "Sax" and take the public transports home. This is what we did already after sunset, but we also love the first option to go down to Fälensee. Enjoy your round trip!
