Sensoji, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple, is a vibrant and popular Buddhist temple in Tokyo's Asakusa district. Legend has it that the temple was built in 645 to honor the goddess of mercy, Kannon. Visitors enter through the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) and stroll down Nakamise shopping street before reaching the main hall and five-storied pagoda. The area hosts various events throughout the year, including the Sanja Matsuri festival in May. With its rich history and colorful atmosphere, Sensoji is a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike.
