Iconic red sandstone formation in Utah

Sightseeing

Message from Adriana Neptuna

Chimney Rock is a 6,420-foot landmark in Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. It's made of red sandstone and topped with a Shinarump Conglomerate caprock. This cool rock formation stands out along Utah State Route 24, about 2.5 miles from the park's visitor center. Hikers can check out Chimney Rock on the 3.5-mile loop trail that offers killer views from above Mummy Cliffs. So, if you're into epic scenery and geology, this spot is definitely worth a visit!
