Known and recognizable from the metro thanks to its huge three-headed Erawan elephant sculpture, 44 meters high and said to weigh 250 tons, the Erawan Museum is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable museums in Bangkok. Inside you will find an abundance of artwork, such as collections of pottery and antiques and ancient Buddha statues. All in an architecturally grandiose museum. You will notice in particular its large rose window. Usually, you combine the visit of the Erawan Museum with Ancient City, a few kilometers further. The museum was commissioned by Thai millionaire Lek Viriyaphan who also commissioned the Ancient City(Muang Boran) and The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya. The price is a bit steep but if you show working visa or vis a long term showing that you're a resident, they let you go with the thai price.
