On the way to Mae Kampong, you can stop to Bo Sang Umbrella Village, where you can see workers create and paint thai umbrellas, very interesting and a good place for some nice pictures. Of course, you can also shop for some souvenirs, there's a huge choice of very nice umbrellas of all sizes and colours. The town attracts thousands of visitors for its unique annual Umbrella and Sankampang Handicrafts Festival. With hundreds of handcrafted parasols and umbrellas decorating the town's entrance, Bo Sang has come to be known as "the Town of a Thousand Umbrellas". Each year, on the third weekend in January, the streets of Bo Sang are filled with color and craftsmanship. The festival features traditional Thai dance, music, food, and a beauty pageant bike parade. Visitors can also enter the Umbrella Making Centre to observe artisans in the process of creating the colourful umbrellas. It's an exquisite event full of sunshine, color, and craftsmanship.
