Kolokitha Beach is located on the small peninsula at the opposite of Elounda. The water is crystal clear and shallow. If you come in August, you will probably get frustrated because the beach is very small. However a visit early in the morning until 1PM or late in the afternoon will convince you that the beach is truly unique.
Good to know
You need to pass the windmills, cross the bridge and after that turn right on a dirt road downhill. You can park your car near the chapel of St. Luke. Spaces are limited. After that, you must continue on foot.

Also accessible by organised boat tours from Elounda and Agios Nikolaos. It includes a swimstop and often combines a trip to Elounda. You can also walk to this beach with views from Mirabello Bay that are amazing. No beach bars or sunbeds so take water and sunscreen with you. A great spot for snorkeling.
