Message from João Petersen

Jaffna Fort, originally built by the Portuguese in 1618 and later renovated by the Dutch, is a historic fort located in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. It has seen its fair share of battles and sieges over the years, including during the Sri Lankan Civil War. Despite being under siege and vandalized at times, the fort remains standing and is now being renovated with Dutch funding. Today, it is garrisoned by the Sri Lanka Army and limited access is granted to visitors.
