Teotihuacan, an ancient Mesoamerican city located near modern-day Mexico City, was once a bustling urban center with impressive pyramids like the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. At its peak, Teotihuacan was one of the largest cities in the Americas, housing a population of at least 25,000 people. Known for its complex residential compounds, vibrant murals, and obsidian workshops, Teotihuacan thrived from around 100 BCE to 550 CE before experiencing a mysterious collapse. Today, it remains a popular archaeological site, attracting millions of visitors each year. An UNESCO World Heritage site that is one the archaeological sites with the longest history of exploration in Mexico. It is an hour and 15 minute car ride from Mexico City.
