Located in the city of Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, Hirosaki Castle has a rich history and many attractions. Built in 1611 by Nobuhira, lord of the Tsugaru clan, this stunning castle features a three-story main tower constructed using the traditional Hirayama style of fortress building. The main tower is surrounded by defensive walls, moats, and yagura towers, while the grounds provide an ideal setting for some of the region’s most popular festivals, including the Snow Lantern Festival, the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival, and the Hirosaki Neputa Matsuri. Visitors can explore the site on foot or take a boat ride around the moat while admiring the castle’s stone walls and 2,600 cherry trees.
