Osaka Castle is a prominent historical landmark in Osaka, Japan. It has played a major role in the country's unification during the Azuchi-Momoyama period in the 16th century. The castle is built atop two raised platforms connected by sheer walls of cut rock and overlooks a moat. Its main tower is five stories on the outside and eight stories on the inside.
