Kabukichō is an exciting entertainment district located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The area has been coined “Sleepless Town” due to its vibrant nightlife full of host and hostess clubs, love hotels, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs. Kabukichō is well-known for its colorful neon street signs and the iconic red “Ichiban-gai Gate” entrance. The district is also home to world-famous attractions such as Toho Cinemas with its Godzilla head replica and Robot Restaurant. Kabuki re-established itself after a 1945 bombing raid that destroyed much of the district in World War II; it soon flourished to be a renowned place for adult entertainment, arcades, discos, and tsurekomi yado, predecessors to today’s love hotels. Nowadays, visitors from all over the world come to experience the wonders of Kabukichō and explore its unique culture.
