Wayag is one of the most iconic and breathtaking destinations in Raja Ampat. This remote paradise is known for its dramatic islands, pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and countless reef sharks.

However, while Wayag’s beauty is unmatched, it is also one of the more expensive and challenging destinations to visit in Raja Ampat. Located far from the main tourist hubs of Waisai, Mansuar, and Kri, the journey to Wayag typically involves a long boat ride of around 3 hours to reach it. Due to its remote location, costs can add up quickly, with expensive boat transfers costing around $600 for a boat that you can split among 8-12 people.

It is easy to organize this tour at your guesthouse. We personally didn’t think the journey to get there would be worth it, and we also met others who went and spent hours in the rain on the boat. I advise that if you have the time, plan a tour where you spend 1-2 nights there to explore more of the area and take your time.
