Such a hidden gem of a waterfall š„°š¦ enjoy!
Charlie's Rock Waterfall is a hidden gem near Kerikeri that often gets overshadowed by its popular neighbor, Rainbow Falls. This 12-meter block waterfall is a local favorite for swimming and chilling out. To get there, park at Waipapa Landing and take a 30-minute walk along the Charlie's Rock Walkway. The track can be a bit slippery with some easy climbing towards the end, but the refreshing waterfall and swimming hole make it totally worth it. Don't forget your towel for a dip in the cool waters!

Directions:
From the car park, cross the road and walk 100 meters along Landing Rd towards Kerikeri Centre. Look for the sign that says āWelcome to Charlie's Rock Walkway.ā Turn right onto the side track and follow it for 10-15 minutes. The first section is easy. After a few minutes, you'll reach the Waiapa Stream. From here, walk upstream until you reach the waterfall. The second section of the track is more difficult, with slippery stones and some easy climbing towards the end. To return, follow the same track back. While some people take a shortcut through a private orchard, we recommend sticking to the official track, as it's unclear whether that's allowed.
Both the top and bottom of the waterfall are easy to reach.
