St. Peter's Basilica, located in Vatican City, is a massive church known for its Renaissance architecture and iconic dome that dominates the skyline of Rome. Built to replace the old St. Peter's Basilica, construction started in 1506 and was completed in 1626. Designed by famous architects like Bramante, Michelangelo, and Maderno, the basilica is a major pilgrimage site and holds historical significance in the Christian world. With its grandeur and rich history, St. Peter's Basilica is considered one of the greatest churches of Christendom.

To view the Basilica we recommend packaging a tour of the Vatican Museums with the Basilica. Our tour from get your guide, was amazing! It actually got us passed long lines both at the museum and the basilica. The guide was great, he gave awesome insights and information and even prepared us for the Sistine Chapel before entering since you cannot talk inside.
