The Skunk Train is a world-famous railway in California that offers scenic train rides through the redwoods. They also have a couple of cool new ways to explore the area - electric rail-bikes or hike out and train back! These two-person bikes take you on a breezy adventure along the historic tracks, crossing wooden trestle bridges and venturing into the heart of the ancient redwoods. It's like biking through a postcard picture! Or you can hike out on a 3 mile guided hike and train back! Plus, you can stop at Glen Blair Junction for a picnic or a stroll among the giant trees. So, if you're up for a unique and fun way to experience nature, hop on a rail-bike or hike out with The Skunk Train!

We opted to do the guided hike out to the Glen Briar Bar and take the train back. This 3 mile hike, runs along the pudding creek and comes with a personal guide who provides info on the history of Fort Bragg, Skunk Train, the local Pomo Native Americans and so much more! Once you're out to the Glen Briar Bar, you can enjoy a provided pack lunch and either hike back, or take the train back! Choose your own adventure!

Pet-friendly: Yes, but must be leashed and well-behaved

Seasonality: All seasons (although some rides are seasonal such as the Christmas Tree ride)

Fees: Tickets range from $50-$120 per person for most rides except the rail-bikes.
