Mendocino Headlands State Park is a coastal gem located in Mendocino,, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and diverse ecosystems. The park features rugged cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, offering stunning panoramic views and opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography. Visitors can explore the park's coastal bluffs, tide pools teeming with marine life, and pristine beaches like Big River Beach and Portuguese Beach. Additionally, the park is rich in cultural history, with remnants of Native American settlements and historic buildings such as the Ford House Visitor Center & Museum, providing a glimpse into the region's past.

This particular spot, is a natural arch that is located just off of Hesser Drive, south of Goat Island. There is a turnoff with a small parking lot and trails that run all around the arch.

Disclaimer: While the area above the arch is quite large, and we felt very safe up there, please practice caution and safety as the ocean below is not forgiving.
