The Karl Knapp Trail is an exciting and beautiful 2.9-mile loop located in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and Redwood National Park near Orick, California. With an elevation gain of 213 feet, it provides spectacular views of old growth redwood forests which includes a fallen redwood that you can even walk through! Depending on the season, wildflowers, wildlife, and rivers can also be seen during this moderately challenging hike. As the trail passes by the Big Tree, visitors will experience the wonder and epic size of this natural wonder. Perfect for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts alike, the Karl Knapp Trail is always a great way to spend a day exploring and marveling at the beauty of the Redwoods.
