Stow-on-the-Wold is an historic Cotswolds town located atop a hill at almost 800ft high. The impressive Market Square in the town centre is surrounded by countless old stone buildings, antique centres, quaint cafes, and inns. Rich in history, it witnessed an important victory in the English Civil War at nearby Donnington in 1646. Not far from the town there is a Well Lane where you can find the ramparts of an Iron Age fort. Twice a year travellers gather here for meet ups and lively trading. There is so much to do while in Stow-on-the Wold, including visiting the breathtaking St Edward’s Church with its ancient yew trees, exploring the many shops, and dining at one of its unique restaurants. Be sure to make time to experience all that this charming town has to offer.
