Fort San Domingo is a historical fortress located in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Originally built by the Spanish Empire in 1628, it was later destroyed by the Spanish themselves after losing to the Dutch Empire. The Dutch rebuilt the fort in 1644 and named it Fort Antonio. Over the years, it served as a British consulate and was even used as an unofficial British embassy. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction and museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Taiwan's colonial history. So if you're ever in the area, make sure to check out this cool old fort!
