I recently had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous traditional Japanese house in Chiba with a group of 7, and it was a fantastic experience. The house itself is incredibly spacious and beautifully preserved, offering that authentic traditional Japanese feel. You get to immerse yourself in a lifestyle from years past while still enjoying modern comforts.
The experience here is delightfully DIY, especially when it comes to preparing traditional meals and enjoying the outdoor amenities. We made use of the bonfire area in the yard, which was perfect for gathering in the evening. The outdoor spa area, complete with a hot sauna and an open-air hot tub, added a luxurious touch to the rustic charm. It felt like we were living in our own little piece of serene countryside.
One thing to note: there are plenty of bugs, given the natural setting, so be careful not to let them inside the house! But beyond that, everything was just wonderful. They even provided comfortable Japanese robes called Jinbei, and for those looking to indulge further in the cultural experience, Kimono were available as well.
We absolutely loved our stay here, and one of the biggest perks is its proximity to Narita Airport, making it a super convenient choice for travelers. It’s an incredible value, especially if you’re a group of 4 or more. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people, though it can fit 10 if needed. For the price and the unique experience, it's totally worth it!
