Hvalnesviti, also known as the Hvalnes Lighthouse, is a cool orange lighthouse located in eastern Iceland. It was built in 1954 and still operates today, emitting two white flashes every 20 seconds. You can easily access it from the main highway and enjoy stunning views of the Hvalnes Nature Reserve and Mount East Horn. Plus, nearby you'll find the Hvalnes Cove with its black sand beach. It's a popular spot along the Ring Road and a great place to take a short walk by the ocean. Just watch out for the not-so-pretty radio tower nearby.
