Raudibotn Crater, located in the Fjallabak nature reserve in Iceland's Highlands, is a hidden gem worth the effort to reach. The crater, part of the Eldgja canyon formed by the Katla volcano's eruption in 939, offers stunning red slopes, green moss-covered walls, and a picturesque lake at its center. Accessible only by 4X4, visitors can enjoy hiking to the crater for breathtaking views of surrounding volcanoes, craters, and lakes. Nearby attractions include glaciers, waterfalls, lava fields, and hot springs, making it a must-visit spot for nature enthusiasts exploring South Iceland.
