Saltstraumen is world's most powerful tidal current and one of Norway's biggest natural wonders. Located outside of the city of Bodø in Northern Norway, Saltstraumen is an incredible spectacle when the tide turns and immense currents of seawater flow between the fjords Saltenfjorden and Skjerstadfjorden. An impressive 400 million cubic meters of water streams through the narrow strait as huge whirlpools dance along it. It's not just great to see - adventurous divers and snorkelers can also explore the marine life closely and taste fresh locally produced salt from the area. Get close to nature with a view of the bridge or the shoreline for great photos.
