It's not often you get to hike down a brand new, freshly blazed trail. Especially one that leads to a serene mountain pond.

At roughtly 5.3 miles round trip, Wolf Pond makes the perfect half day hike or overnight backpacking trip if you're looking for solitude off the beaten path in the Adirondack Mountains.

The trail starts off Blue Ridge Road and crosses over Wolf Brook before starting a climb and heading toward the pond.

There is one Adirondack lean-to to camp at once you get there. It's first come first served.

The best time to do this hike is mid summer - fall. While the trail is open year round, I wouldn't recommend this hike during the spring because of mud and black flies.
