The Museo di Palazzo Poggi, located in Bologna, Italy, is a cool spot that's part of the University of Bologna. Originally built as a palace for Alessandro and Giovanni Poggi in the 16th century, it now houses a bunch of awesome collections like natural history, anatomy, physics, and more. With fresco decorations and historical significance, this place is a must-visit for anyone interested in art, science, or just exploring cool old buildings.

The historic library is located next door, and although you can only visit it on a guided tour, they offer regular tours in English, for which you can usually register online on the spot.

Why you should visit it?

Both the museum and the library are absolutely magnificent, filled with unique objects showcased to the public, artworks, rare books, and many exclusive scientific and historic artifacts. It gives you a glimpse into the university’s life and history, and will not leave you indifferent if you love history, let alone if you’re visiting it as a student (or maybe with some prospective students?). Make sure to visit Museo della Specola (the Observatory Museum) located on top of Palazzo Poggi for a unique, Hogwarts-like experience - but keep in mind that it’s not always open, so double check the opening hours before going.
